God cares about order, justice, and peace. “God is not a God of disorder but of peace” (1 Corinthians 14:33). A healthy government establishes laws so people can live together safely and fairly. Scripture teaches that governing authorities should support what is good and restrain wrongdoing (Romans 13:1–4). Laws may address civil rights, families, crime, business, and many other parts of life, but every law should serve people with fairness and respect.
Human Trafficking: Protect People from Harm
Human trafficking treats people as property and steals their freedom. God calls us to defend people who are weak or oppressed: “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves” (Proverbs 31:8–9). Followers of Jesus should oppose exploitation, support survivors, and seek freedom for those held in bondage (Isaiah 1:17; Luke 4:18).
Racial Reconciliation: Love Across Every Difference
Every person is made in God’s image and has worth (Genesis 1:27). God does not show favoritism (Acts 10:34–35), and Jesus calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves (Mark 12:31). The gospel brings people together in Christ and calls us to reject prejudice, listen with humility, repair wrongs, and pursue unity (Galatians 3:28; Ephesians 2:14).
Poverty: Care for People in Need
God cares deeply for people who lack food, shelter, safety, or opportunity. Scripture tells us to share with those in need and to act with compassion (Deuteronomy 15:7–8; 1 John 3:17–18). Serving people in need is one way we serve Christ (Matthew 25:35–40). Justice seeks both immediate help and fair conditions that allow people to flourish.
Conflict Resolution: Become Peacemakers
Conflict grows when people refuse to listen, forgive, or seek what is right. Jesus says, “Blessed are the peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9). We should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry (James 1:19). Biblical peace does not ignore wrong; it joins truth, mercy, repentance, forgiveness, and wise action (Micah 6:8; Romans 12:18).
Justice and Peace Belong Together
Justice means giving people fair treatment, protecting them from harm, and correcting what is wrong. God loves justice (Isaiah 61:8), and He calls His people to “act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly” with Him (Micah 6:8). Good laws can help preserve order, but laws alone cannot change the human heart. Lasting peace comes from God and should shape how we treat one another (John 14:27; Philippians 4:7).
The Gospel Moves Us to Act
The gospel is the good news that Jesus came to save sinners and reconcile us to God (John 3:16; Romans 5:8–11). His grace changes our hearts and teaches us to live in a new way (Titus 2:11–14). Because Christ loved us, we can carry His love into places of injustice. We can pray, learn, speak truth, serve people in need, support wise laws, protect the vulnerable, forgive others, and work for peace. As we do justice and share the gospel, we point people toward the hope found in Jesus.
