Our nation says we are “one nation under God,” yet many hearts are weary from the way we are treating one another. The current political sway is pulling people apart when so many are longing for peace, understanding, and healing. Families, communities, churches, and neighbors have been wounded by anger, fear, pride, and deep division. Surely this grieves the heart of God, who calls us to love one another.
The Bible lovingly warns us, “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap” (Galatians 6:7). This is not only a warning; it is an invitation to examine what we are planting. If we sow bitterness, lies, division, and injustice, the harvest will bring pain and brokenness. But if we sow truth, mercy, humility, and love, God can bring healing.
God also warned through the prophet Hosea, “They sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind” (Hosea 8:7). A whirlwind is stronger than the wind that started it. In the same way, generations of poor choices, political fighting, selfish ambition, and turning away from God have brought sorrow and confusion to many people. Still, God’s mercy gives us room to turn around.
We should not claim God with our words while forgetting His ways in our actions. Yet even here, God does not leave us without guidance. He calls His people to truth, mercy, justice, humility, and righteousness. Micah 6:8 says the Lord requires us “to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly” with Him. Proverbs 14:34 says, “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.”
The healing we need will not come from blaming one another, hardening our hearts, or choosing political sides over truth. Healing begins when hearts turn back to God with humility and prayer. Second Chronicles 7:14 says that if God’s people humble themselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from their wicked ways, then He will hear, forgive, and heal the land.
We need grace for one another, but we also need repentance before God. We need mercy, but we also need justice. We need peace, but we also need truth spoken with love. James 3:18 says, “A harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” If we want a better harvest for our children and grandchildren, we must begin planting better seeds now.
Now is the time to lay down hatred, pride, deception, and division—not with shame, but with humble hearts before God. Now is the time to seek Him, listen with compassion, speak truth in love, and choose righteousness over political noise. A nation cannot be made whole by mocking God’s ways, but there is still hope when we turn to Him together.
May God help us sow truth, mercy, justice, love, and righteousness—so that future generations may reap healing, unity, and peace.
