And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” (Isaiah 40:5)
The Lord has been impressing upon me the importance/significance of the times and seasons we are living in. The glory of the Lord is not mysterious and elusive. There is nothing more powerful than His presence. The Spirit of the Lord lives within us. God desires to live His life through His children. We need only to rest and allow His glory to shine through us.
Paul tells us “Christ in you is the hope of glory.” Christ in me is the hope of revealing knowledge of God’s glory throughout the earth. His Glory that shines through you and me will convince the world that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world.
There are numerous places in the Bible that speaks of God’s glory being revealed in the earth. Habakkuk 2:14 says, “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” His glory will be seen and experienced throughout the earth. He has set the place of our habitation so that His glory can be revealed (Isaiah 60:1, Acts 17:26).
How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God (Psalm 84:1-2).
His Presence Empowers Us
When the Old Testament prophets (speaking and writing under the influence of the Holy Spirit) spoke, things happened. Their interactions with God provided a healthy fear of the Lord that had a great impact on how the people thought and lived. It was the Spirit of the Lord upon them that had an overwhelming influence over the people.
What makes Christianity stand alone from all other religions of the world is that we have a tangible God who longs to reveal Himself to us. Our Heavenly Father longs, yearns to pour out His Spirit on those who are hungry for Him.
I came to a place in my walk with the Lord that I believed there had to be more, and there is always more. It is this responsibility, discipline, and passion to know God through His Word that feeds our spirit and develops our awareness of His presence. Without the awareness of His presence with us, and understanding His ways, we will not be able to consistently walk in obedience.
