Moving On To Deeper Truth Series Pt. 2 (Video)

“…God willing, we will move forward to further understanding.” (Hebrews 6:3 NIV)

In Part 1 I stressed the importance of spending time in God’s Word. Getting to know His ways through His Word! The Word of God has been a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path for the last 25 years. In this video I share a testimony of how being anchored in the Word of God helped me on the day that my eldest son passed away.

John 13:20 The Voice (VOICE) 20 I “tell you the truth: anyone who accepts the ones I send accepts Me. In turn, the ones who accept Me also accept the One who sent Me.”

The Apostle Paul was sent to the Gentiles with the gospel of the Kingdom. God is sending messengers in this time … you will know them by their fruit.

I encourage you to remain steadfast in faith, rooted and and grounded in truth of God’s Word during this unsettling time.

A short testimony of God’s goodness during times of trouble:

It was a trying day as I tried unsuccessfully throughout the day to reach him.  He had just successfully  completed rehab and transitioned into transitional housing.  The day before his death I noticed he seemed down. I tried to encourage him that things would get better in time.

On the day of his death during a time of study I was reading “Possessing Your Inheritance; Take Hold Of God’s Destiny For Your Life” I came across a chapter titled “From Grief to Glory” by Chuck Pierce. Little did I know I would shortly experience the pain of losing a child.

In this section the author shared that all lost is painful, yet God may have a greater purpose for us in our season of loss. Many who have walked in intense grief have experienced a level of God’s grace that they might not have known otherwise.

On the day of his death the Lord spoke into my heart that He was going to bring him home. So that night when the door bell rang I knew he was gone. Though he didn’t beat addiction naturally, he didn’t lose the battle because he’s at home with the Lord.

As the days went by preparing for his homegoing celebration service I prayed each day for God’s Grace to strengthen me. On the day of his viewing I sensed a flood of peace come over me as I walked into the room. I kissed him goodbye knowing that he was at peace and home with the Lord. I would one day see him again.  His homegoing service was a celebration of his life, love for family, friends and fast cars.

Colossians 2:6-8 (VOICE) says, “Now that you have welcomed the Anointed One, Jesus the Lord, into your lives, continue to journey with Him and allow Him to shape your lives. 7 Let your roots grow down deeply in Him, and let Him build you up on a firm foundation. Be strong in the faith, just as you were taught, and always spill over with thankfulness. 8 Make sure no predator makes you his prey through some misleading philosophy and empty deception based on traditions fabricated by mere mortals. These are sourced in the elementary principles originating in this world and not in the Anointed One (so don’t let their talks capture you).”

We all need sound doctrine … steady diet of the Word.

2 Timothy 4:1-5 (VOICE)

4 “And now I bring you this charge before God and Jesus the Anointed, the one destined to judge the living and the dead, at His glorious appearance and His kingdom: 2 go out and preach the word! Go whether it’s an opportune time or not! Reprove, warn, and encourage; but do so with all the patience and instruction needed to fulfill your calling 3 because a time will come when some will no longer tolerate sound teaching. Instead, they will live by their own desires; they’ll scratch their itching ears by surrounding themselves with teachers who approve of their lifestyles and tell them what they want to hear. 4 They will turn away from the real truth you have to offer because they prefer the sound of fables and myths. 5 But you must stay focused and be alert at all times. Tolerate suffering. Accomplish the good work of an evangelist, and complete the ministry to which you have been called.”

16 “Father, out of Your honorable and glorious riches, strengthen Your people. Fill their souls with the power of Your Spirit 17 so that through faith the Anointed One will reside in their hearts. May love be the rich soil where their lives take root. May it be the bedrock where their lives are founded so that together 18-19 with all of Your people they will have the power to understand that the love of the Anointed is infinitely long, wide, high, and deep, surpassing everything anyone previously experienced. God, may Your fullness flood through their entire beings.” Ephesians 3:16-19 The Voice (VOICE)
