Daily Reading – Day 15 Psalm 119:113-120

Samekh

The letter Samekh is the 15th letter of the Aleph-Bet or alphabet. The root of the word Samech means “to lean upon,” “to uphold,” or “to support.” The pictograph for Samech looks something like a shield.

For a day in Your courtyards is better than a thousand elsewhere.I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God Than live in the tents of wickedness. For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; He withholds no good thing from those who walk with integrity. LORD of armies, Blessed is the person who trusts in You! Psalm 84:10-12

113 I hate those who are double-minded,
But I love Your Law.
114 You are my hiding place and my shield;
I wait for Your word.
115 Leave me, you evildoers,
So that I may comply with the commandments of my God.
116 Sustain me according to Your word, that I may live;
And do not let me be ashamed of my hope.
117 Sustain me so that I may be safe,
That I may have regard for Your statutes continually.
118 You have rejected all those who stray from Your statutes,
For their deceitfulness is useless.
119 You have removed all the wicked of the earth like impurities;
Therefore I love Your testimonies.
120 My flesh trembles from the fear of You,
And I am afraid of Your judgments.

In His Service,

Minister A. Francine Green
