No Fear of the Lord

Scripture focus: Romans 3:18

There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Romans 3:18 is a short verse, but it carries a loud warning for this generation: “There is no fear of God before their eyes.” When reverence for God is missing, people begin to live as if they answer to no one. They ignore His Word, silence conviction, and treat holy things casually. But God is calling hearts back to honor, humility, and holy awareness.

To fear the Lord means to recognize that God is holy, righteous, powerful, and worthy of our obedience. It means we stop living as if His voice is optional. It means we understand that His Word is not a suggestion, His presence is not common, and His correction is not rejection. The fear of the Lord brings us back into alignment with the heart of God.

When a Generation Loses the Fear of the Lord

When there is no fear of the Lord, people begin to crown themselves as the final authority. Truth becomes whatever feels good. Conviction is treated like offense. Correction is rejected. Culture becomes louder than Scripture, and personal desire becomes stronger than obedience.

But this is not the hour to be careless with God. This is not the time to play with sin, ignore conviction, or call disobedience freedom. The fear of the Lord is not meant to trap us; it is meant to protect us. It is a holy boundary that keeps our hearts tender, our eyes clear, and our steps aligned with God.

The Fear of the Lord Awakens the Heart

The fear of the Lord is not panic. It is reverence. It is the holy awareness that says, “God is near. God sees. God speaks. God is worthy.” It is the kind of honor that brings us low in humility so God can lift us up in grace.

A heart that fears the Lord becomes sensitive again. It begins to love what God loves and hate what grieves Him. It stops asking, “How close can I get to sin?” and starts asking, “How close can I walk with God?” That kind of reverence brings wisdom, purity, and power.

A Call to Spiritual Awakening

This is a moment for honest examination. Is the fear of the Lord before our eyes? Do we make decisions with God in mind? Do we honor Him when no one is watching? Do we allow His Word to correct us, or do we only want comfort without surrender?

This question is not meant to condemn us; it is meant to awaken us. God is calling His people back to reverence. Back to repentance. Back to obedience. Back to the place where His presence is treasured and His Word is honored.

How to Return to the Fear of the Lord

·       Remember who God is. He is holy, loving, righteous, faithful, and true.

·       Honor His Word again. Let Scripture become louder than culture, fear, pride, or personal desire.

·       Repent quickly. Do not harden your heart when God lovingly corrects you.

·       Walk in humility. Pride resists God, but humility makes room for grace.

·       Live aware of His presence. God sees the hidden places, and He desires truth in the heart.

Prophetic Encouragement

A person with no fear of the Lord lives as if God is small. But a person who fears the Lord walks in wisdom, humility, discernment, and power. I believe God is awakening hearts again. He is raising up people who will not treat Him casually, who will not compromise with darkness, and who will carry His presence with honor.

I declare that reverence is returning. Conviction is returning. Hunger for holiness is returning. The fear of the Lord will be restored in hearts, homes, churches, and communities. We will not be a people who live without awareness of God. We will be a people who honor Him with our words, our choices, our worship, and our lives.

Reflection Questions

·       Is the fear of the Lord truly before my eyes in the way I live, speak, and make decisions?

·       Have I treated God’s Word, His presence, or His correction too casually?

·       Where have I allowed culture, comfort, pride, or personal desire to become louder than God’s truth?

·       Do I respond quickly when the Holy Spirit convicts me, or do I ignore His correction?

·       What is one area of my life where God is calling me back to reverence, obedience, and humility?

·       How can I honor God more intentionally in private, not just in public?

Prayer and Declaration: Lord, restore in me a holy fear of You. Awaken my heart where it has grown dull. Forgive me for any place where I have treated Your presence, Your Word, or Your correction lightly. Teach me to walk in reverence, humility, obedience, and truth. I declare that I will not live careless before You. I will honor You in private and in public. I will treasure Your presence, obey Your Word, and walk in the fear of the Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
