After Jesus came through the wilderness, He returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit (Luke 4:14–15). The wilderness did not destroy Him. It revealed Him.
When Jesus stood in the synagogue, He read from Isaiah and made His mission clear. He came to preach good news to the poor, freedom to the captives, sight to the blind, and liberty to the oppressed. Then He said, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing” (Luke 4:21).
Jesus knew who He was. He knew why He had come. He knew what the Father had anointed Him to do. His mission was not built on pressure, popularity, or people’s opinions. His mission was rooted in the Word of God and empowered by the Spirit of God.
That is a word for us today. We are living in a time when many things are shaking. Systems are being tested. Voices are growing louder. But God’s people are receiving a Kingdom that cannot be shaken (Hebrews 12:28).
The Kingdom is more than a message we preach. It is the rule and reign of God coming into our hearts, our homes, our cities, and our generation. It is God’s will being done on earth as it is in heaven.
Like Jesus, we must return to the Word and listen again for the voice of the Father. We must remember who we are, why we are here, and what we have been called to carry. In Him we live, move, and have our being (Acts 17:26–28).
May we rediscover the Kingdom. May we walk in the power of the Spirit. May we bring light where there is darkness, hope where there is heaviness, and freedom where there has been bondage.
